Q13 Morning News
Whoooey, this was fun. Had to get up a little bit extra
early to arrive at the studio. Our live spot was at 8:40am,
and we had to play several short segments ("bumper"
music) to go to a commercial and such. They did a little interview
with Susan. Everybody was really nice (although newscasters
always have that "phony" quality about them, comes
with the job), and professional. The whole thing went off
without a hitch, and before we knew it we were done.

Easy Street Records
It was a beautiful day...so people weren't shopping for
records today. They were out enjoying the sun. Nonetheless,
pretty good gig. The store has a decent sized stage. We brought
the PA and had to do our own sound, which by all accounts
was good. Two very young girls were enjoying themselves as
they watched, and kept waving at us. Seeing the young'uns
dancing around always makes us smile.

Rain Dancer
Ah, the day after Thanksgiving. Nice crowd for this one.
It was promoted on the Q13 appearance. First big electric
club gig in awhile, so it was fun to crank it up and put my
new red Carvin bass to the test. There was a weird green light
behind me which made the red bass look black when I held it
up. Now I know what the black stain finish would have looked
like. "Fury and Peace" went off really well, the
best it's been so far.

The Rock Bottom Brewery
This place is a sports bar in Bellevue. Last time we played,
we went electric and it was a mistake. So this time we played
acoustic. I usually use my B5 fretless bass for acoustic shows,
but I'm so excited about my new red bass I decided to play
that one. Had a good time. We did 2 sets, between which I
ordered a dessert (a slice of mud pie!). I wrongly assumed
I'd have time to eat it before the second set, but no. The
waiter brought it to me just as we were going back on stage.
So I put it behind me on my amp. Lucky for me, the 3rd song
was "Landslide", which I sit out on. Pete and I
grabbed a table and ate my mud pie! Yum.

The Elysian Brewery
Interesting night...how many singers do you know who can pull off a show with laryngitis? Well,
Susan can. Not only did Susan have laryngitis, but so did Josh, which means I covered his
backing vocals. Badly. Of course everyone said it sounded good...but I don't believe them. Susan
simply amazed us all with her performance. Sounded a little raspy, but she hit all the notes. I was
almost wincing throughout the entire set, and expected her to leave out several parts. But she went
for them, and hit them. Wow. Unfortunately, after January the Elysian will no longer have music.
Too bad, it's a groovy place to play.

The Lakepointe (benefit for New York Firefighters Fund)
Well, due to the monsoon happening outside, there was virtually no one at this show. Which is really
too bad, because it was nice. We played acoustic, real mellow, but it rocked nonetheless. No money
for the fund though.

The Rock Bottom Brewery
Our third time playing at this place, and this was the best so far. I really felt we grooved well, in spite
of the way the sound is set up there. Decent crowd. I made sure to order my pie before we started the
first set, and it arrived during the break. This time I got the Chocolate Derby Pie, and oh my goodness
it was DEELISH. The waiter is very nice.
