Lizzy Daymont was born into a musical family. She grew up in Hinsdale, IL just outside of Chicago. Even though she studied piano, guitar, saxophone, and finally settled on bass, she always wanted to emulate her oldest brother and play drums. When no one was home, she would sneak down to the basement and play his drum kit along with her Rush tapes. After attending Boston's Berklee College of Music and performing in a slew of bands as a bassist, Lizzy's early desire to drum was finally fulfilled when Michele Colyn asked her to be the drummer for After School Special, which then turned into The Safety Skirts. Lizzy also continues to gig regularly as a bassist in other musical projects, including Seattle singer/songwriter Susan Robkin's band, and DivaRock - a tribute to Women in Rock. She also plays guitar with Yogi & Half Zaftig. Lizzy's personal web site can be seen here.
